Update

Posted in Family, neutron star on August 5th, 2006

Things have been extremely busy these last several weeks. I have a final on Thursday and then I'm on summer vacation until mid September. I can't wait. My mother is coming into town in a couple of weeks and we are going to go see the new Cirque show.  (Corteo ).

I did a credit evaluation for my Northwestern program and found that I need to start taking at least two classes per semester to finish in four years. If I don't it will be more like 9 years!!!! So next Semester I'm going to take a Literature course and a Differential Calculus course. My life is over.

Work has been very crazy and fun. My status reports are like 6 pages long! Two people have left (For various reasons I cannot talk about) since I have started and have not been replaced. I am now basically doing anything and everything. We just purchased a new EMC SAN that I have been playing with. I'm still not sold on the idea of SANs. Expensive, and over-rated. especially EMC!

Eno is doing very well. He has a follow up nero appt. about his arm on Tuesday. (Keep your fingers crossed). Group administrators have finaly cut their first check to pay for his therapy. Yes, thats right, first! Since last October! I will not miss them!  The new company has Blue Cross Blue Shield. I feel he is doing extreemly wel though. 90% - 95% better.

Bye.

It’s true. I was hatched!

Kitten

My new cat. She was a stray off the street. 1 year old. Very sweet. Seems to get along with Cosmo. She is now fixed, got all her shots and a RFID tag. Thoughts on a name for her?

Eno first year of school done.

It's been a busy couple of days. Today was Eno's last day of Junior Kindergarten! WOW, what a fast year. For his last day we had an event called the “Royal Breakfast.” All parents, JK (Junior Kindergarten), SK (Senior Kindergarten, AKA normal kindergarten) and their 12th grade buddies got to attend. JK and SK sang a few songs for the crowd and received presents from their 12th grade buddies. All this was followed by a continental breakfast.

Eno got lucky and ended up with two buddies earlier in the year. This was the result of one his classmate leaving the school and leaving an orphaned 12th grade buddy behine. This meant Eno got two presents instead of one. The presents were interesting on two different levels.

Ty (I'm sure you have all heard the Ty bald head story by now.) gave Eno a a transformer he already has (Which Eno kindly informed him of.) and a home made music CD wrapped in brown paper and duck tape. The package was labeled musical time capsule. Don't open until 2016! I thought this was kind of a cool gift and took a bit more thought then a trip to the Toy's R Us. I wonder what kind of memories it may resurrect in Eno ten years from now. I hope I still have a CD player around! It even sparked my curiosity. I want to know whats on the CD! Obviously Eno didn't pay much attention to it because he couldn't open it. So for the moment he couldn't care less. His other Buddie Noaa gave him a box of Lego and a two really big supper soaker watter guns. Lonnie and I have never bought Eno any guns and never intend to. Eno has asked many times for water guns. His eyes grew and grew and the smile simply couldn't wiped from his face. What are we supposed to do as parents? We can't take the guns away at this point. They are harmless right? Maybe Noaa should have checked with either the school or the parents before giving a gift of that nature. Anyway.. I guess it's time to get wet.

I spent part of the morning thinking about Eno's first day of school, meeting all the new parents, the teachers etc. On that first day Lonnie and I had many preconceptions about the parents and were pretty nervous around them. You know.. rich people… they will never accept us into their clique. Now about a year later we have befriended a couple of families and really grown to enjoy their company. It's amazing how powerful and misguided stereotypes can be. Once again I find myself walking around with my foot in my mouth.

He will be loved and missed!

The holiday is over. It was a long three days of grilling, drinking, bouncing on the trampoline, swimming, and just plain having fun. I’m exhausted! This is the first down time I have had.
